About Electric Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts are one of the most versatile pieces of AWP (aerial work platform) or MEWP (mobile elevated work platform) access equipment. They’re ideal for navigating and maneuvering in tight spaces to lift the work platform to varying heights (up to 9.92m for our electric models, 12m for diesel) for temporary maintenance or construction work.
The lifting mechanism works by an arrangement of ‘criss-crossed’ or ‘scissored’ (hence the name) folding supports. When the bottom most supports are pushed inwards, the supports above it are extended and the platform is raised to the desired height.
The advantages of electric over diesel are that they are emission free and quieter which makes them ideal for use indoors.
